So what exactly is a hormone? Hormones are the chemical messages produced by glands in the body. They can be looked at as the language of the body. Instead of words, hormones tell the body what to do. These chemical messages act like a lock and key system. Certain hormones bind to certain cells, just like only one key can go into one lock. You must have the right key to open the door and thus you must have the right hormones to lose weight.

There are six fat burning hormones and three fat storage hormones. If any of the three fat storage hormones are dominant..they will shut down all six fat burning ones and you will NOT lose weight. No matter how hard you try. Sorry, that's just the way it works. It's all about body chemistry, not about your willpower or caloric intake! Bold statement I know...but right nonetheless.

What you might not realize is that your own hormones can work against you, making you fat and distorting your body's shape. The secret to losing wight is to specifically address your glandular weakness as opposed to the shotgun approach of regular diets restricting calories and telling you to exercise more. 1. We test your hormone system via Saliva Testing.

Why saliva and not blood? Blood tests are fine when searching for major disease states, but not for detecting sub clinical gland and hormone imbalances. You have to have major liver damage before positive findings show up on blood tests. The same is true of the adrenal glands (see our page on Hormone Balance for in depth explanation of the adrenal glands and their role in weight loss). Your body tends to keep the blood chemistry constant no matter what!

However, saliva shows us the bio-active forms of hormones. The part that binds to the cells and does all the work. (Lock and key). Many hormone blood test come back normal yet show up abnormal on saliva testing. That is why so many suffer for years withoiut help because they just looked at blood test. Learn to listen to your body. You know when something does not feel right.

2. Hormone Symptom Survey
Designed to show us how hormone systems are reacting together and what is your dominant hormone type. Rarely are the relationships between the hormones looked at. This is a critical mistake in most hormone testing because all hormones have an intricate balance. One can't function properly if another is over or under active. This survey helps us determine which hormone is the weakest.

3. Food Journal
